Alexanders was asked by The Queen’s Club to help with preparations in the run up to the 2016 Aegon Championships. We completed a two-phase project the week before the prestigious Kensington tournament started and returned following Andy Murray’s record fifth title to make sure everything was back in place.

We had to be extremely careful moving furniture internally through the narrow hallways and glass doors of the historic members’ club
The first phase of the project required a four-man team to move four soft seating units and a large inventory of other goods from The Queen’s Club in W1 to our secure London storage facilities.
We sent a 7.5 tonne small lorry down to Queen’s to transport everything back and created a dedicated section within our Container Storage so that all items could be located easily when the time came for redelivery.
We created a dedicated section within our Containerised Storage facility for The Queen’s Club
Phase two required a second day at Queen’s and four of the Alexanders Professional Removal Porters to assist with moving and decanting of furniture. We helped to move lights, dining tables, chairs and accessories from the bar and dining area to new locations within the club buildings and also to external locations courtside.
The team had to take great care when moving furniture internally through the very narrow hallways and glass doors of the historic members’ club. We also helped to move a number of extremely heavy flower boxes, not previously listed within the job specification, which took all four men to lift and transfer.
The week following the championships our commercial team returned to deliver all items out of storage and to help put all the furniture back as it had been previously.

“Many thanks for your assistance during the recent Ageon Open. I have to say your men were brilliant. Everything went smoothly and we will definitely be booking Alexanders next year for the same event and possibly some others too. Thanks again.”
