Alexanders was asked by The Queen’s Club to help with preparations in the run up to the 2016 Aegon Championships. We completed a two-phase project the week before the prestigious Kensington tournament started and returned following Andy Murray’s record fifth title to make sure everything was back in place.
APT Controls asked Alexanders Removals and Storage to manage their commercial relocation from Harrow to new premises in Hemel Hempstead.
The 15-man team, led by Surveyor Tony Vullo and Project Manager Nick Hedges, completed the large, three-phase move throughout August with minimal disruption to APT’s daily business activities.
At the outset of the project we conducted a thorough risk assessment in order to understand and adhere to health and safety regulations on site.
Phase one was scheduled over three days and we were tasked with the uplift removal of the mezzanine and back corridor of the ground floor warehouse. We sent a large 7.5 tonne lorry and three Luton vans from the Alexanders Commercial fleet to help with the move as well as using an additional forklift and over 500 crates.
We wrapped individual product containers while dismantling and removing existing racking units and finished a day ahead of schedule.
With minimal disruption to their daily business activities, APT were able to continue with business as usual throughout the relocation
Phase two was planned over 4 days and involved the pack and removal of the back office and production room including the uplift of the dispatch area in the warehouse. We successfully negotiated the extraction of an extremely heavy 500KG fire cabinet containing sensitive documents and the team once again finished head of schedule, this time by two days.
We completed the first two phases of the relocation ahead of schedule
The third and final phase of the project was conducted over 4 days and involved the two-floor office relocation and removal of SKI data products in the warehouse. Our team needed to uplift and pack individual products and then replace them in the exact same position at the new location.
There was no lift available and access was difficult through a narrow doorway but our team overcame this challenge whilst working seamlessly alongside other building and maintenance contractors.
Our final task was to dispose of all unwanted goods and furniture leaving APT to enjoy their new premises.
“We recruited Alexanders Removals to assist us with our office move. The general office move, over two floors, was the easy part; the removal of our exceptionally large warehouse was the real challenge! Not only did we receive excellent customer service, we were offered good advice to ensure a smooth transition and Alexanders Removals completed the move quickly and professionally in a structured process. Fantastic and flawless work by all the crew and we would highly recommend them.”
