Business Development Manager

Job Description / Overview
We are a small but fast growing removals and storage company based in NW10.

This is a new role for the organization and will be perfect for someone wanting to roll-up their sleeves and carve out an important and broad business role for themselves. You will be an integral part of our small team, responsible for generating new corporate / commercial business through active prospecting. You need to be a self-motivated sales professional, focused on generating and developing opportunities in the corporate market and representing the organization with all potential new customers. You will have the opportunity to drive leads to conclusion and also follow some of those leads into account management.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • 1. New Business Development
    Create a strategic sales plan to increase company revenues within agreed target groups o Cold Calling of key decision makers for the purpose of cultivating relationships to acquire new leads in UK and beyond
    Pipeline Management – Grow relationships and network to monitor current and acquire new leads
    Turn leads into meetings / discussions
    Present capabilities and pitch to a very high standard in order to win new clients
    Negotiation and closing commercial agreement
  • 2. Account Management
    Responsibility for small number of key accounts, in conjunction with inside sales and move- management teams
  • 3. Events and PR
    Responsible for delivering all aspects of agreed yearly major promotional events – max 6 / year
    Planning of stands, promotional materials, attending events and working with sales team on staffing and follow-up
    Pre-and post-event marketing and follow-up

Role Requirements

• Must have a strong and structured sales background ideally within Removals, relocation or similar industry
• A track record of high achievement in a target driven environment
• Can clearly demonstrate strong networking abilities – an excellent people person
• A self-motivated, driven and passionate individual, with high level of integrity and with an honest and genuine demeanor
• Excellent verbal communication, presentation skills and writing proficiency
• At least 2 years proven sales experience
• Flexibility, in order to respond to changing business needs
• Willingness to engage, learn and share best practice across the team and organization
• Excellent communication – ability to engage on all levels, internally and externally with diverse array of clients
• Self-motivated with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
• Experience prospecting and hunting for new business as well as the development of a pipeline in the local market is an asset
• Be able to build strong relationships externally and internally

Hours / Location / Travel

• Hours: 08.30 – 17.00 Monday to Friday. Potential need to work some evenings and also the odd weekend, in order to cover events. Approximately 40 hours / week.
• Location: Mixture of office (in North Acton) and field
• Travel: London and SE to suit business needs.

Porter/7.5 Tonne Driver

Job Description / Overview

£9.00 to £9.50 per hour (probationary period)
£22.000 to £24.000 (after successful probationary period)

We are a fast growing removals and storage company that strives to treat every customer as an individual and exceed their needs. We target the high end of the domestic and commercial market.

As a 7.5tn driver and digital tachograph driver card holder your responsibilities will include driving 7.5tn and 3.5tn vehicles between our warehouse and customer addresses and working as a removals porter. You will be required to comply with driver restrictions relating to driver CPC holders.

Driving duties

• You will be required to drive vehicles to/from Office/warehouse to customer’s address.

• When driving you are responsible for ensuring that vehicles are roadworthy, reporting any problems to the Operations Manager, and that you adhere to company policy on driver and vehicle safety.

• Drivers are responsible for keeping the cab free from rubbish and for returning the vehicle to the fleet at the end of the day clean and tidy and with adequate fuel.

• You will be responsible for making sure that the vehicle is legally parked. Where parking may result in a parking fine this must be authorised first by the Operations team in the office.

Porter duties

• Working as a team, undertaking the safe handling of customer goods. Assist your colleagues where necessary in any removal related tasks.

• The role will include packing, unpacking loading, unloading into company’s vehicles and in/out of buildings, on-site and off-site.

Customer Care

• As an ambassador for Alexanders you will need to be extremely polite and courteous to customers.

• You will also be required to present yourself in a professional manner at all times and adhere to the company uniform and smoking policy.

Health and Safety

• Safe systems of work will be followed at all times.

• You will be required to carry out your duties in accordance with Alexanders’ Health and Safety policy, ensuring the safety of yourself, of your colleagues and of the public.

Porter/3.5 Tonne Driver – NW10

Job Description / Overview

£8.00 to £8.50 per hour (probationary period)

£19.000 to £21.000 (after successful probationary period)

Driving

  • You will be required to drive 3.5tn vehicles to/from office/warehouse to customer’s address
  • On these occasions you will be responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is roadworthy and you adhere to company policy on driver and vehicle safety.

  • As a porter you will be a key member of the removals team on each job, responsible for packing/unpacking, loading/unloading with the greatest of care.
  • As part of the removals team you will be responsible for delivering the optimum customer experience. This will involve working efficiently as part of a team, being polite and courteous to our customers, whilst adhering to Health and Safety requirements at all times.

Working as a team

  • Undertaking the safe handling of customer goods.
